Hi Mastodon, I’m UK based and about to start pursuing an adult ADHD assessment because… many reasons. I’m literally at the stage where my life is being impacted on several fronts and I’ve realised that this might be the reason for several persistent difficulties I’ve experienced. I’ve started writing down things, and am planning to go to my GP in the new year (terrified!) what do I need to know? This is cool. A Yale study of nearly 8000 children showed a smaller fontal cortex (brain bit behind your forehead) with ADHD people.

It's a real disorder is the point!
