If you see the post directly above this one calling out a racist union that welcomes racist cops, we decided to bring the concerns directly to the admins/mods of union.place . One of them responded saying they're gonna let the #AFLCIA stay as long as they don't break any rules on the instance, which if you remember is the same rationale the admin of mastodon.scot gave literally days ago for keeping police unions on that instance. 🤮

Also, we totally missed this at first (thanks to the user who pointed it out!) but the founding admin of union.place has his main account on a freeze peach instance, cantos.social , which says a lot.

Given all of the above, & since union.place's membership already skews extremely white demographically & geographically…it'ssafe to write these people off & either throw the whole instance away or tread carefully around them knowing they're racist.

#AFLCIA is a super racist union that spent the 20th century attacking anyone they felt was a communist, both within & without the u.s. They endorse conservative democrats in elections, & their reaction to the #BLM movement has been to repeatedly shut down attempts by their own members to kick out the thousands of cops, prison guards, & other fascists they count among their members. Leftists beware #1u
