Study suggests AI can predict risk of lung cancer returning using CT scans--lead researcher is Dr Sumeet Hindocha, clinical oncology specialist and also #AI4Health alumni----This OCTAPUS-AI study used imaging and clinical data from over 900 NSCLC patients from the UK and Netherlands following curative radiotherapy to develop and test machine learning (ML) algorithms to see how accurately the models could predict recurrence.

researchers Ruoyu Hu and Neophytos Polydorou who were awarded Best Student Paper at the Fourth IEEE International Conference on Cognitive Machine Intelligence. Their paper “A Multilingual Virtual Guide for Self-Attachment Technique” describes a novel computational framework for deploying digital psychotherapy guides for Self-Attachment Technique.

Over the last few years, our CDT has developed a strong research training environment by hosting and running the only UKRI AI CDT conference, regular, unique annual workshops for students and regulators [The Regulatory Symposia], a fellowship programme to bring in research-active NHS clinicians to engage and work with CDT students. We developed a tailored Responsible Innovation workshop coupled with a Dragons Den, an innovative seminar series where PhDs analyse AI journals.
