Today's #cycling adventure was climbing up Cavedale Dr. The first ride ever with a new friend made during #AIDSLifeCycle
🤘
Below are a couple of the fast boys.
I've now ridden with them two years in a row and it's been such a delight.
One of the benefits of doing #AIDSLifeCycle year after year!
Safety is very important to me. It's part of the reason I like to ride with the fast boys.
Predictable, safe, fun, and of course: fast.
To have multiple commendations from my peers on safe riding over the past couple days really lifted up the end of my #AIDSLifeCycle 2023
Heading into Paso Robles earlier this week I got stuck at rest stop four while my snapped rear shifter cable for a long time.
Heading back out I was riding with the less experienced pack, and got stuck behind two doofuses riding side-by-side, just as Safety drove past.
The next morning I had my first #AIDSLifeCycle safety ticket 🙀
I was frustrated but accepted my guilt-by-association.
The compliments I got from the fast boys after I led them through Malibu really made my #AIDSLifeCycle day.
Pulling at 22-24mph on a crazy PCH with aggressive drivers left, poorly parked cars right, and a number of hazards is *super* intense.
To hear variations of "I feel very safe riding behind you" is just the best.
🤗 🤗 🤗
All finished with #AIDSLifeCycle 2023. My friend Kohsuke and I crossed together in beautiful Santa Monica.
Quite the ride this year!
The #AIDSLifeCycle gear trucks don't have gear for us until 1pm, so my group has gone from 23-25mph to 15 and stopped into "the Starbucks where all the celebrities go"
Last day of #AIDSLifeCycle 2023 and I slept in to 5am! 🤯
Beautiful morning in Ventura and there are lots of hugs as the last day of big gay bike summer camp comes to an end
Installed new cleats, because the others are clearly shredded. Looking forward to crossing the #AIDSLifeCycle finish tomorrow
Curious morning, ended up helping the same guy whose flat I fixed in my dress yesterday, except I pinched two tubes 🤬
He caught a ride to lunch and I cranked along with Grampa Cretin, where I reviewed my tire repair technique with the #AIDSLifeCycle roadie expert.
Wahoo has crashed at least once, so I think I've done 45mi?
All the #AIDSLifeCycle morning chores are done so nothing to do but wait for bike parking to open up
Starting #AIDSLifeCycle day six, a chilly morning in Lompoc near the airport
Both Los Angeles and my 5k fundraising goal are within reach!

Going sleeveless today for #AIDSLifeCycle red dress day was risky, ended up taking a chilly nap in the grass at lunch.
Trade-off is that I won't have crossed straps sunburnt into my back the rest of the summer 🤷
Day five of #AIDSLifeCycle is illegal in the state of Florida.
Starting red dress day with the lovely boys from gear truck H.
An easy 46 miles today so there's not much Rush
Finished up, showered and ready to relax with second lunch.
88 miles for day four of #AIDSLifeCycle
82 hard ridden miles to #AIDSLifeCycle rest stop four if you can-can believe it.
Made it halfway to LA and down the mountain to rest stop two at 33mi of #AIDSLifeCycle day four.
Up before 4:30 again for an early breakfast before #AIDSLifeCycle day four past the halfway point to Santa Maria. Weather is looking mote promising already this morning!
Finished with #AIDSLifeCycle day three. 65 hard one miles, cold enough for blankets to have been handed out at lunch and rest stops
The volunteer bike techs at #AIDSLifeCycle are typically staffed by at least one pro mechanic, who then teaches their helpers. It's fun to watch
