Some thoughts for engineers designing these:
If not possible in a -esque form factor, then I'd wish that they'd use PGA or LGA sockets for those...

I.e. some old-stock or sockets...

That should be sufficient to get high-speed interfaces like USB4, HDMI 2.0 and PCIe routed through.

Those mezzanine board-to-board connectors ain't sturdy and can't really handle big heatsinks gracefully.
