Amma arrived in the UK in 1977, working for the NHS, and studying for her post-grad qualifications as an Anaesthetist.

Due to the Anti-Tamil riots in 1977, my father, younger brother and I arrived on 6/9/78, piggybacking as Dependents on her Visa. They knew nothing about claiming #asylum .
