One of the things I became aware of in #COVID19 was how #wastewater #surveillance can be such a useful #publichealth tool to monitor emergence and activity of infections in the community.

Great drug, it's oral, but still makes me a bit apprehensive about using it for a long course, certainly at 600mg BD.

This is interesting - providing individualised antibiotic plans safely reduces #carbapenem prescriptions.
But isn't this just what happens in specialties, like #hematology or #intensivecare, that get regular #microbiology / #infectiousdisease #MDT review of their #antibiotic prescriptions?

So clinical benefit post-phage could also stem from bacterial attenuation rather than just eradication.
