I used QTH.app to check in on my Mac, from @w8wjb - it was a good round-trip test to see that I could get everything correct. So far I have done Internet only, but RF is not far behind.

I joined the #APRSTHURSDAY net over an INET path on a TNC-Pi today. It is advised not to join over an RF path to avoid saturation of your local environment with net traffic, instead use an iGate direct INET path only. Enjoying seeing messages from around the world on my Raspberry Pi LCD! 73's
