Because DDLJ was one of the first Hindi films I watched by choice as an adult (not counting a few trips to the cinema as a kid), nearly 20 years ago now, I was Today years old when I learned that both Lata and Asha sang for it. Happily, I have no trouble hearing the difference now. Sorry Lataji, but my preference will always be to remain 😀 #filmi #gaane #Asha

Hey #SLPs did you know that #ASHA now has a Disability Caucus for professionals with disabilities? More info here: https://www.asha.org/practice/multicultural/opportunities/constituency/

This story by Laura Paskus is a wonderful encapsulation of how many of us felt about #MexicanWolf #Asha's wanderings. Thank you, Laura, for this lovely piece. #Wolves #WILDlife

"Dismayed" is the media-friendly word for how we're feeling about this capture. They couldn't let #Asha the wandering #MexicanWolf go free, it seems. Had to chase her with a helicopter and drop her in captivity.
The American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (#ASHA) studied the citation impact of articles published in its own journals and found a significant #OpenAccess citation advantage (#OACA). But for some reason it chose to put this study behind a #paywall.

@syntaxerrors Agreed. In the last 7 days I've had 2 days of public school closures, (election day, veterans day), a kid need an xray (fine), a kid with a fever (fine now) leading to a canceled bday party and a dog that ate a grape (induced vomit). I swear these things only happen in concert because #ASHA is approaching.
I wonder if anyone has written about #ASHA #hyperparameter optimization vs restart strategies.
I've been playing around with ASHA in #ray on my CMA-ES optimization task. Turns out my hyperparameters (population_size, sigma_0) are almost uncorrelated to performance, but the final performance varies a lot per run.
So what ASHA actually does for me is just picking the lucky runs. Which helped a lot. Maybe I should try this BIPOP restarting strategy of CMA-ES instead.
The worst thing that could be scheduled in the week before being gone for 5 days to attend #ASHA? A three-day week at school with non consecutive days off + the university drop deadline.
