Well, the Vaillant engineer found the fault quite quickly and replaced the faulty part - a coil controlling a valve. Since then, the heating system has worked well and the house has been very comfortable. #ashp #vaillant

We've had our air source heat pump for nearly 3 days, now. It worked well for 20 hours before it died. An engineer is due to visit on Wednesday. #ashp #vaillant

An example of the 'rebound effect' I really wasn't expecting!

It's another reason (to add to a growing list) not to let the undoubted value of installing insulation (and other fabric measures) delay the roll out of (mainly air source) heat pumps.

This suggests to me we need a third strand though: national programme on energy literacy.
