Matthew’s work. One is from the author himself (signed), one is from Amazon Warehouse. I can recommend both books. He puts in words what an explorer can feel in such significant sites, which some no longer exist, as if people wished to erase the history.

When I first tried to watch Florida Project I felt like Hollywood had simply exploited the worst of central Florida stereotypes. Since I've lived in the shadow of Disney, a different part of town, a kind of Abandoned America on parts of the Orange Blossom Trail, historically known for its vice, I'm seeing through different eyes. I love the film's portrayal of the scrappy kids. It rings true in my immediate environment.

The old Pine Logging Camp is in a state of arrested decay near but I doubt the teepee burner and buildings will remain standing much longer without more intervention. The did some restoration work back in 2002-2005 and it's only been abandoned since about 1980. But decay moves quickly in the on man-made structures.

Two derelict wooden boarded grain elevators in a freezing cold blizzard in Montana. It was bitterly cold and there was very little visibility. It looks like they have been out of use for decades.
