It’s really frustrating that everyone, advocates and news outlets, are saying abortion pills might get banned. ONE of the pills might get banned, mifepristone, which is really bad and horrific because it’s so effective, but there is an extremely effective misoprostol-only regimen that will be an option.

Studies on the effectiveness of misoprostol-only regimens range from 88% - 95% effective. Misoprostol produces more symptoms, but they’re symptoms patients experience with the mife/miso regimen anyway.

Misoprostol is also much, much cheaper than mifepristone.

It boggles my mind that any providers would consider suspending pill services rather than adopting a miso-only regimen. It would be completely inane and unnecessary, literally just rolling over and dying.

Additionally, it boggles my mind that journalists AND some abortion advocates are saying “abortion pills will be banned.” No, there is a misoprostol-only method and it is almost just as effective. Why not bring that up? Why not mention that is an option?
