I’ve been selected to interview for a #PhD in Medicinal Chemistry position at the prestigious University of Michigan, Ann Arbor.

I have no clue about how the interviews could be but I’ve been told to set aside anything else for that day as they plan to conduct it for 8 hours.I was also asked to choose 5 faculty members I would like to meet.I’m nervous and optimistic.

Please, I’d like to seek for your interview advices. UMich experience would be lovely!

What sort of questions are usually asked? What's the best way to prepare? What are the panel looking for from an interview that they couldn't learn from the application documents? What would *you* be looking to learn about a candidate during an interview?

I had to play around with my prompts, but it produced a good starting place for an essay on analyzing a specific genre rhetorically and and essay that argues for a change in a community. I can’t even imagine where it will be in a few years.

Grading exams is not easy. I had several colleagues use the right steps of the method needed, but haven't read the question right, so their initial setup was not as expected. The answer turned out to be correct sometimes as well! Quite confusing for grading.
