Fun day today involving a quiz race, balloons, ping-pong balls and the happy discovery of a leftover mince pie (sealed in a packet!) in my office drawer.
Plus my back has almost recovered from last week's ludicrous moment of idiocy injury.
It occurs to me that if more of my job was actually teaching (and eating mince pies) I would love it so much more. I have a pretty high tolerance for admin and bureaucracy in general but academia is bloody drowning in it

Spent the day talking with potential future midwives at our Open Day today which is always a joy - one of my favourite parts of my role - but absolutely exhausted and peopled out now. Feel like pyjamas, ready meal, beer and TV is the way forward
