I spent some quality time with a new friend discussing . I've found myself doing that more and more lately and it's made me so profoundly glad.

ADHD symptoms have been seen by society as moral failings for so long that we overcompensate to be seen as worthy — a guaranteed way to burn out.

But if we talk about it without judgement, we can find ways to make society more accessible to all.

isn't trendy. It's been criminally underdiagnised for years.

The reason it appears that famous celebrities are all coming out as ADHD is because they are the only ones being reported about. 1 in 40 of everyone you have met is . So 1 in 40 comedians are too!

At present, I don't have a full time job. And in a way, that's lucky for me - I was able to ride out this withdrawal period without worrying about work performance.

But I've been applying for work. If I get an offer and start someplace new, untreated ADHD symptoms will be an obstacle to my success.

I'm sure lots of other people affected by the shortage are having similar thoughts.

Now I'm left to wonder... When the supply line recovers, do I even want to go back on?

The medication certainly helps with my ADHD symptoms; that's undeniable to me. But is it worth the risk of withdrawal whenever there's a shortage? Or even without a shortage, if there's just a bunch of bullshit red tape from a doctor's office? The controlled substance restrictions are very difficult to deal with sometimes, especially while also coping with ADHD.

And with all these symptoms hitting me hard, it should go without saying that I also didn't achieve much of anything "productive" this week.

But there's a light at the end of the tunnel! I woke up today feeling... Normal? Better? Five hours later, I'm still hanging in there.

Mind, I do still feel those same ADHD symptoms that made me seek treatment in the first place, but I feel pretty close to my pre-diagnosis baseline, and I'm hopeful it'll stay that way.

This week, my pharmacy was unable to fill my Adderall prescription. They apologized, but advised me they had no stock on hand, and no estimate for when more would come in.

So for the last four days, I've been experiencing, for all intents and purposes, amphetamine withdrawal.

It hasn't been fun. Stopping cold turkey has caused overwhelming fatigue, inability to control my sleep, disorientation, upset stomach, and even some sexual side effects.

Listened to this this morning.

I get migraines so this was a useful listen.

Currently recovering from a massive migraine on Saturday which I'm still feeling the effects of now.

Honestly I just hate not feeling well.

Episode 74 of The ADHD Adults is a massive pain in the....head.

Is there a link between ADHD, migraines and headaches?

What the heck does an ADHD evaluation with a neuropsychologist look like? Any ideas? I want to be able to be prepared and also not flustered. I am 99% sure I have it, and really just want confirmation. I’m just so anxious about doing it wrong 😂

Hi, I’m old and waiting on the results of an official ADHD diagnosis while personally recategorizing behaviors into buckets like “learned coping strategy” and “not a moral failing.” (Numbers are being officially crunched but the initial result is Very Likely.)

One of the most heartbreaking things about having ADHD is seeing neurotypical people who are not as smart as you, not as talented as you, and not as skilled as you be wildly successful while you can barely get started on your brilliant idea because your brain just doesn’t want to work the way you want it to

Can someone please write a book about Adult ADHD that doesn’t spend the first 1/2 of the book either diagnosing it or trying to convince me I have it? I know I have ADHD, I want tips and trick and solutions. If you understood ADHD you would know I won’t get through the first 100 pages of you explaining it to me.

Give me solutions, even in bullet form, and throw in some funny anecdotes.

(If anyone can reccomend a book like this I’d appreciate it.)

When the Chinese curse „may you live in interesting times“ works its magic. A hellish year of existential upheavals, ongoing, plus diagnoses in the family. Highly avoidable injuries and Gordian brain knots. Travelling around half the globe to keep up the family spirit. Seeing all our friends going through unbelievable heartbreak and troubles of their own. The whole globe going insane.
But we are still there, still fighting the good fight.

Tips for people living with ADHD. I just got diagnosed with ADHD three days ago as someone in my mid-30s, and I'm still trying to process what's going on and what should I do with this information. Suddenly all of these behavior that causes problems for me my whole life makes sense, and I'm so confused right now. 😔

Does anyone know any tips or support groups for someone that just got diagnosed with adult ADHD?

I was and took years learning my , but once I got better at managing it, it taught me to listen to others. Really listen. As in, how "I can't" means "I can't" rather than "I don't want to", "I'm lazy" or "I don't care".

Thus, absolutely, understanding my made me a better and a better person in general, and I couldn't be more thankful for it!
