I found this fragment a few years ago in the sea near a ancient temple on a Greek island called #aegina. I knew it was something but only when a saw the little animal in a museum a few years later did I find out what it was.
Dating back around 3400 years it was a fragment a Mycenaean terracotta bull. Swipe to see one sold in Christie’s and the crap photo I took.
Amazing to see the colour has lasted so long.

This is one of the most important coins from the ancient world. The turtle silver stater.
First issued in Aegina, a Greek island near Athens, this dates from around 550 BC! Making it around 2572 years old.
I didn’t find this one #mudlarking but am going to donate it to the #Aegina museum next summer.
