Compared to an app like or , @inkscape may have its rough edges, but overall I really enjoy working with . 😊️ And while I also appreciate (as an or alternative), I prefer the and of Inkscape.

The two softwares are very different ( is the more direct alternative), but regardless I prefer products any day. They work really smoothly, and I found were much easier to learn / had more intuitive workflows. I mostly use for my own art

This weeks’ challenge at 52Frames.com is Shallow Depth of Field. The sub-challenge for me is to find the “sweet spot” on a particular lens for sharpness and clarity. Using the Canon EF 24-105 f/4L I found that f/5.6 gave really great sharpness in the center and at 1/500 of a second gave a decent blurred background (shallow depth of field).

Big yellow bulldozer, a harbinger of progress.

What was once a golf course, the home away from home for snowbirds to play a round, and a place to catch a pitcher of beer and a couple of burgers is now leveled to make way for apartments and a strip mall. Progress.

Up pretty early this morning and went outside to look for the elusive "Green Comet". I've been out a few times and haven't seen it yet.
So, what else does one do at 3:30 am in the middle of the backyard but shoot ?
I am still amazed at how well the new camera does in capturing the light from distant stars. Easily 98% of these I couldn't see with just my eyes.

Kennt sich jemand mit Publisher gut aus? Ich versuche ein Bild auszutauschen. Im Original sieht es super farbkräftig aus, in Publisher (aber auch ) eher blass. Andere Bilder und der Rest des Dokuments sind weiter farbkräftig.
