Today's the 1st day of the #USAfricaLeadersSummit. Joe Asunka, the CEO of #Afrobarometer is there and just tweeted how #Botswana's government consulted Afrobarometer data in its decision to decriminalize same sex relations.

This is HUGE. Let me also say that lessons drawn from my research with Boniface Dulani using 3+ decades of survey research in Africa suggest that decriminalization will also be powerful in shaping more tolerant attitudes.

Ahead of next week's US-Africa Leaders Summit, #Afrobarometer's leadership has analyzed their most recently collected survey data to tell us what African citizens might prioritize, were they consulted.

Among other highlights, I draw your attention to the overwhelming majority of Africans who want their governments to do more to limit #ClimateChange, “even if it is expensive or causes some job losses or other harm to our economy.”
