We're having an interesting time playing it in a WW2 setting.

We had our third #AgainstTheDarkConspiracy session this weekend.

Coming out of the holiday break, dealing with day work stuff and a large game design to do list, I really struggled to prep'. It's not required/encouraged by the system but that's still mostly my comfort zone due to my trad' roots.

So I dragged my feet a bit to run the session, while I was looking forward to see the friends around the table.

Everyone were nice and we leaned together in the shared storytelling approach. ❤️

I started my TTRPG after moving to London where I found an inspiring TTRPG community. At first, I played mostly within a French-speaking club. I GMed Star Trek LUG, played Dark Earth and a couple trad' games.
During the pandemic I started playing online with The Gauntlet. I also published my first game #ParisGondo - The Life-Saving Magic of Inventorying.

Continue the development and playtesting of #RosewoodAbbey. Hopefully, print/publish an ashcan version by the time of UK Games Expo.

Continue to run demonstrations at UK conventions and clubs of #ParisGondo and to sell the current edition ahead of my first ever Kickstarter this summer.

It should be a rather interesting year for me. 😅

I launched this one on #Netflix but I couldn't get past the first scene.

It just came across as boringly shot and poorly directed but not in a funny way.

FROM RUSSIA WITH LOVE

This one is a bit of a stretch (not WWII) but it was relevant to my campaign due to a train segment. It happens that, without realising it, I pretty much reproduced beat by beat a scene when the villain spikes Tatiana's drink during the session before I watched this movie. 😅

Interesting how Bond's action matches AtDC's "Behave Badly" move.

GHOSTS OF WAR

The spoiler I'll say is that some things look like poor production/writing but are "justified" by the twist.

Overall, it's a silly but fun horror movie hitting all the tropes. It made me want to go back to the #BIFFF in Brussels.

At least this one had some Eldritch elements.

THE GUNS OF NAVARONE

Spoiler alert: The first entry is actually so far the best entry. The action and the emotional beats/reveals perfectly matches the AtDC system including Anchors pulled from #CthulhuDark or what happens when a character is taken out of play. The heroes are even called "Operators" like in AtDC. 😍

It's only "missing" the Eldritch element.

I'm preparing the sale of #ParisGondo at #Dragonmeet and an upcoming Kickstarter campaign for it.

Alongside that I'm playtesting and developing #RosewoodAbbey

On the GMing side, I'm running a campaign of #AgainstTheDarkConspiracy using #AchtungCthulhu as the setting. It's interesting openly getting our heads around the system with the players.

I'm watching The Rangers (1970) on Prime, an Italian WW2 (is warxploitation a thing?) as I'm on sick leave and too tired to work on anything (I count that as prep' for my #AgainstTheDarkConspiracy meets #AchtungCthulhu campaign).

For some reason, they really wanted to depict the POW camp as muddy but the set (probably in Italy) is just dry.

Still, their sound engineer added silly *squelch* sounds whenever someone walks or exercise around. 😅
