From yesterday and today, Aimee Mann's Bachelor No 2, her first album released after getting out of her label contract, on SuperEgo.

This is the anniversary editon, a great 2-LP expansion with exactly the liner notes from Aimee you'd want to read.

The whole thing, of course, is great...makes me wish I had lived in LA and hung out at Largo during the Mann/Brion/Apple/etc clubhouse years.

Today’s listening is The Greatest Christmas Album Of All Time, which just happens to be ‘One More Drifter in the Snow’, the 2006 album from Aimee Mann.
A selection of classic Xmas tunes, suitably arranged to complement Aimee’s melancholic voice, along with one original song ‘Calling on Mary’, which is excellent.
The song about The Grinch may be a little perplexing for us Europeans, but altogether this is, quite frankly, the only Christmas album you need!

Today’s listening is ‘Lost in Space’, the 2002 album by Aimee Mann.
I have the special edition 2 CD version of this great album.
This is peak Aimee. I love the sound of the guitars and the pervading ‘other-worldly’ atmosphere. As well as the title track, the songs Humpty Dumpty and Invisible Ink are favourites. Could this be classed as a concept album?

Today’s listening is: @#%&*! Smilers by #AimeeMann, which I am now horrified to discover was released way back in 2007. I still think of it as being one of her ‘more recent albums’!
I think I’m correct in saying there are no electric guitars on this record, giving it quite a distinctive overall sound.
Has Aimee ever released a bad album? Luckily ‘The Both’ doesn’t count as one of her solo albums!! #nowplaying
