Them: We have a title in #AlmaILS that lists as journal but in #PrimoVE it lists as book. We updated the LDR more than 24 hrs ago.
Me: Ahh, the fun of syncing. Let's double check the resource type mapping. Then lemme just add this fake note & save.
Us: <Waiting as the system grinds & grinds & grinds.>
Me: Yep. Syncing. The resource type updated now.
Them: Wow! Just. WOW.
Me: Email if this happens again. I'll dink the record for you.

Spent a few minutes in #AlmaILS figuring out a norm rule to remove a MARC field. Then spent 20 mins sweating while I convinced myself the rule wasn't going to eat my records. 🤣
Discovered the overlap analysis reports in #AlmaILS but keep forgetting it’s set to email me so then have the disappointment of it not being a real person wanting to talk to me, that

My #Introduction post...
I'm Lesli. I'm a #ModernQuilter with a #fabric, #book & #coffee habit. I have a 15 year old #Schnaupin. I spend most of my time #sewing, #reading, & watching #documentaries. I work as a systems #librarian for a consortium of five #medical #libraries in #Texas. MPOW uses #AlmaILS & #PrimoVE. I'm opinionated. Nothing I say represents my employers.

Spent most of my day editing #AlmaILS letters. Spending my evening watching #CritterFixers.
Been a few months into my role & still struggling to get my head around #AlmaILS I assumed with everything being integrated it all works seamlessly but am learning it’s has its quirks. Luckily have lovely colleagues to answer my endless questions.
By any chance do any of y'all have #AlmaILS configured for bib-level patron holds? (I'm not seeing a way to do that, but would happily be proven wrong.)
Example: Bib record for laptops with multiple holdings, each of which have multiple items. We'd like to have patron request at bib level just pull next available item, regardless of holding (or, bib hold = then choose pickup location and system pulls next available item).
#AlmaILS pondering:
Since the POL Notes implementation in Analytics is basically unusable, I've been thinking about using one of the reporting code fields for acquisitions stuff.
For example, to mark CSFs, things that will need to be handled a fiscal year or two down the road (prepayments, for example), and similar things that I'd like to be able to easily run a report on.
Anyone done this before? Pro/con?
Ok, I might be unreasonably excited about the upcoming ability to add labels to POLs that'll be both searchable in the main box and show up as facets. Like a more-viewable note field. (Hopefully they'll end up in Analytics eventually, too.) #AlmaILS #LibraryLife
