My victory goals were to have 50% of my force left over after turn 15 (impossible) and to destroy all WoB forces (very hard).

Playing a round of #BattleTech #AlphaStrike to get used to the rules.

Next round in the #AvalancheCompany will be played with Alpha Strike rules, because the new CO Glitch plans to go in with the full force of AC’s enhanced company plus infantry support.

I like quirky game sub-systems and rich settings and gaming in them. I'm also keen on #gm-advice and post about things that happened at my table. I'm also a fan of #TunnelsAndTrolls even though I don't play it often these days. Old school but not "OSR". All is subject to change.

Any #battletech veterans around?

I'm thinking about getting into #AlphaStrike now that there's a Kickstarter going.

I used to play Epic back in the 90's, and getting tanks and infantry along with the stompy mechs seems like the way to go for me. I need enough stuff for two players so I have an army for myself and a loaner.

My plan is to get:
- Company level
+ Alpha Strike box
+ Alpha Strike rule book

Total $250 + shipping.

And pick my Force Packs with tanks and such.

Does it make sense?

Calling this one done. This took a lot longer than my others but I think this is an okay step up from the last one overall. I went over the edge highlighting again which was a pain but I think it came out okay.

I tried something different with the cockpit and not sure if I'm happy with it. Oh well, on to the next!

I love everything about #BattleTech these days. The new plastic minis are awesome. The rules are great. #AlphaStrike allows for large scale engagements at a quicker pace.

My main gripe is the lore. To try to learn all of the pertinent lore from pre-3025 to 3151, you'd have to buy a crapton of books, many of which are OOP/digital only. Just for the ilClan era, you need to by 3+ lore books at $110+ MSRP. As an RPGer, that is a lot to shell out for a setting.
