Because she believes entirely in her mission. She believes she's protecting the world from a violent threat, that that protection requires sacrifice and vigilance. It's not even a hard call, for her.

I read that lengths in the industry are minimum 50K words, and the sweet spot is 70K to 100K.

I'm so relieved! I thought it was 120K! My book will probably arrive at 70K, maybe a little less. A short novel, not another unsellable novella.

I would have liked some feedback on The Trials of Baromir but it was too late since it's being edited slowly but surely. Anyway, I am putting too much into describing apparently and not sure if that's a bad thing compared to my military science fiction books. But it's honest feedback and have to look into applying it somehow to my work so far.

46726 words for Days of Baromir. One thing that I don't bring up about Baromir, the "hero", is that he can't read. I thought it would be a good idea for an MC with a history of working on a farm most, if not all with his life. Personally it's a good trope to mess with that he needed to learn how to read to survive the world he lives in, as his party members can read, so that I made sure that he got a book for the story.

45699 words for Days of Baromir. I need to create some more encounters with the Black Knights. It's getting pretty dull with not that many encounters. But that's the reality in the world. The Black Knights could be terrorizing another part of the province and the steady whittling down of the enemy helps that boredom come along when you least expect it to.

The last. The first chapter is discovery, and that’s a blast—meeting characters, figuring out how they relate to each other—but the last chapter is bringing it all together, connecting all those threads. That’s deeply satisfying.

Only in my novels you can find in one chapter a discussion about the importance of ethics & consent in necromancy, while in another there is a discussion about the quantum observer effect at macro scale and how alters a sentient sword’s physical shape & power before a fight.
