All done and all discarded! Thank you all for following along with #AmberDoesCRISPR!
UPDATE: Got some E. coli on the experimental plate! I call this a success.
Now to bleach these microbes. #AmberDoesCRISPR
UPDATE: Done with incubation! Now just to wait (at room temperature). #AmberDoesCRISPR
UPDATE: Now the DNA mixture is incubating in a pot on the stove. #AmberDoesCRISPR #KitchenScience

This is what the final solution looks like! Off to the fridge for now. #AmberDoesCRISPR
Already broke the thread. But I’ll be making (non-pathogenic) E. coli grow today!! #AmberDoesCRISPR https://twitter.com/amberying/status/1558896429887885313
Making agar plates with a microwave. Literal kitchen science. #AmberDoesCRISPR
This is normal in any class but I have hit the point where I actually have to pay attention and concentrate to understand what’s going on. #AmberDoesCRISPR
HIV (and AIDS) used to be a death sentence. I was too young to remember most of the activism but I remember the AIDS Quilt being shown at the Mall in DC. There has been so much progress but now we can gene-edit human cells or HIV itself? WILD. #AmberDoesCRISPR
I'll be discussing this more when I make the video (after I solve my technical difficulties) but with what we now know about HIV and CRISPR, we can give people resistance to HIV and eliminate latent viral reservoirs. #AmberDoesCRISPR
Today's lesson is how to stop HIV infection using CRISPR. It's not quite a cure but this progress was unimaginable during the AIDS crisis. #AmberDoesCRISPR
