Good evening Fediversistas! Been ambling, naturally. I do need to find somewhere else to amble, but there is a nice bakery which does really good quiche at the bottom of the hill. If I were to start a blog with hiking routes I might be motivated to find new ones, but I can’t be bothered and I really like quiche. So there we are. Here’s today’s amble. The last bit was in the car until I remembered to turn off the app. #Hiking #Ambling #Rambling
Some amble pics from earlier - here is a fun fact about each of them:
1. Sheep originated in the Middle East and are not native to the pennines, which they have dined upon for centuries
2. Cairns are often used to mark high points on hills; trig point markers are placed by the Ordnance Survey, for whom my great grandfather worked
3. Stoodley Pike monument is where we took our avi
4. The village on the far hill is Heptonstall, where Sylvia Plath is buried

Good evening Fediversistas! We have been to the borderlands today - bandit country, where we did part of one of our favourite ambles, Todmorden to Hebden via Stoodley pike. Video here, pics may follow - not sure why the app thought this was a run. With these knees? You are having a laugh. #Rambling #Ambling #Hiking
Good evening Fediversistas! We have broadband again! Hurrah! So I am watching real telly. Our amble this afternoon didn’t record but we had one very heavy downpour followed by some actual sunshine and almost summer like conditions. Which was nice. Took amble pic pre showers by the look of it. Also, alpacas! #Ambling #Rambling #Hiking
