The cart entrance to the old Crown Mill on Washington Street in the Anderston Area of Glasgow. This Italianate building was constructed in 1862, but all that is now left is the boarded up ground floor. However, you can still see traces of the compaby's name as a gost sign above the door.

While the square Hayward Prismatic Pavement Lights (patented in 1871) can still be found across Glasgow, Hyatt Lights with their round lenses are an older version, being patented in 1845, and are much rarer.

In fact, the 1854 tobacco warehouse on James Watt Street in Anderston where I took this picture is the only place I've seen them so far in the city.

I love these gothic style air vents on Saint Patrick's Church in the Anderston area of Glasgow. The church itself was designed by P.P. Pugin and was built in 1898.

The former Anderston Brass Foundry on Elliot Street in Glasgow. It was built in the 1870s using polychromatic brick, which was common for industrial building of that period in Glasgow. It remained a brass foundry until 1914 when it was turned into a paint works, which it's still used for to this day.

The wonderful Savings Bank of Glasgow building in Anderston in Glasgow. Designed in 1900 by Salmon, Son and Gillespie, this Art Nouveau gem is hidden away in a part of Glasgow where few visitors ever venture. Yet, by only sticking to the regular tourist haunts, they are missing out on some truly amazing architecture.

Arched windows on the facade of the former Glasgow Saw and File Works, Elliot Street, Anderston.

Built in the 1870s, this is one of a number of industrial polychromatic brickwork buildings in Glasgow which are at serious risk of being lost.
