Today in Labor History May 30, 1972: The Angry Brigade went on trial in the UK for a series of bombings it had carried out. In total, the police blamed 25 separate bombings on the far-left militant group. Targets included banks, embassies, the BBC and the homes of some Members of Parliament. No one died from the bombings. The court acquitted four of the eight activists in the trial.

Today in Labor History February 9, 1969: The anarchist Angry Brigade bombed the Bank of Spain in Liverpool, England. The Angry Brigade was a far-left group that committed 25 bombings in England between 1969 and 1972. a series of bomb attacks in England between 1970 and 1972. They targeted banks, embassies, the BBC, and the homes of Conservative Members of Parliament. No one was killed in the bombings. 8 people later stood trial, four were acquitted. John Barker, along with Hilary Creek, Anna Mendelssohn and Jim Greenfield, were convicted on majority verdicts, and sentenced to ten years.
