My progression into spirituality has never aligned with the tired narrative that I am a person 'desperately seeking control' in a life that gives one so little. If anything, an #animist worldview breaks up the entire idea of Human As Center/Superior. Instead, my perspective shift meant I could suddenly see that the world was populated with even more beings & forces than I could imagine, teeming with unfamiliar cultures and mysteries and responsibilities and dangers than I knew what to do about.
