2023 Book 7: A Spool of Blue Thread by Anne Tyler (f 19/2). A story about families, shared histories, family myths, and a much-loved house. I really enjoyed it. Though I kept imagining one of the main characters (Abby) as being played by Sally Fields, which was slightly jarring (though she’d be great in the role, if it was filmed).

Total: 5 books, 2 novellas

Enjoyed French Braid by . Yes, it's the same book exploring the ordinary lives of America middle-class families she always writes. But the characters as ever are completely believable. Nothing much happens, but I really want to know about it.

Early signs are that has written her book again. This isn't a complaint of course.

Two other books that stand out in my mind:
"Noah's Compass"
"Digging to America"

I'd have to say "Clock Dance", by . Really, the same goes for any of her books. By the end of the book you've come to know and (at least) sympathize with the characters, and you're sad you'll never see them again.
