The issue with #IPv6 is one of widespread infrastructural neglect, rather than only software. With said neglect being propped up by #oligopoly and #monopoly, depending on where you are.

#Antitrust revival and active stamping down on #AntiCompetitive practices is necessary for IPv6 to succeed in those countries.

No, the charge controller is typically internal to the laptop (or the battery module, depends).

Any compatible input has to go through it, so your input source is entirely disposable and replaceable with anything providing a compatible electrical interface.

A whole lot less prone to being lost or damaged, unlike a smart cable or wall-wart.

Vendor lock-in is a very Apple sort of value-added proposition.

Here we simply have an #oligopoly with all competitors having to use their infrastructure (because the government is too idiotic to realize public infrastructure is a basic requirement where natural #monopolies are concerned), stifling competition in a different way instead.

The #ISP #monopoly & #oligopoly bullshit means that such nonsense as #datacaps are still a thing.

Not to mention that thanks to those same #AntiCompetitive business practices, the #infrastructure is undermaintained and largely obsolete, so even without datacaps it wouldn't work well.

So, with that mess with #Rogers in #Canada, I wonder if that might finally kill the Rogers/Shaw merger that everyone sane considered to be a horrible idea constraining the #ISP resilience/redundancy even more in #Canada.

The state of #telecom #infrastructure in #Canada is just sad.
