#Antigonish RCMP have arrested a man after a stabbing in downtown Antigonish.

At approximately 3 a.m. this morning, #RCMP officers responded to a report of a stabbing on College St. Upon arrival at the scene, they learned two men had been involved in an altercation before one stabbed the other.

A 22-year-old man has been charged with Aggravated Assault.

I got to sit in with a #choir in #Antigonish tonight, which was super lovely. They're really talented and have a really excellent sound.

It was amusing how most of their songs were about the sea. Coincidence of programming, I'm sure, but it was a real 'Welcome to #NovaScotia' moment for me!

It was also my first time sight-reading #Gaelic, which was a real delight, let me tell you, lol.

@gemlog In mid-December, I was reading about the #covid19 outbreak in #Antigonish #NovaScotia. There was a professor who was commented on Twitter about how she was scared for the health of her child, since the elementary school wasn't switching to remote learning.

As @keithzg reminds me, the school was maybe a threat to the community at large, but the child himself was very safe. The person with the PhD was conpletely delusional about the real risks of #covid19.

Sad to see #Antigonish the locus of a #covid19 outbreak. #NovaScotia had been doing so well with vaccinations and control of the pandemic.

I wonder to what degree this is because of parties, and to what degree it is because #omicron is extremely contagious? Also, what was the percentage of people vaccinated? I see that in Nova Scotia people age 12 and older are about 90% vaccinated.

Well, we should soon have another data point about hospitalisation under current conditions.

In #NovaScotia, where they have similar challenges, they refer to people by nicknames: Ronny D.D. of #Antigonish was one of the D.D. MacDonalds, for instance, after the name of his father, while at one point the mayor of the town was Ronny Elbows, so called from his hockey days.

Then there was Francis Willy Hector: he was the son of William MacDonald and the grandson of Hector MacDonald.
