Apache #CamelK is a lightweight #integration framework built from #ApacheCamel that runs natively on #kubernetes and is specifically designed for serverless and microservice architectures.

During my paternity leave, my colleague refactored my whole code base to a better architecture. This also laid out the foundation to move from #ApacheCamel to pure #SpringBoot which is quite nice.

I guess this is how maturing a product from prototype to beta to final should be like!

Question for #ApacheCamel #Java users out there. Is it overkill for when you just want to process messages off an AWS SQS queue? I’ve inherited a codebase using it for just this purpose and Camel feels heavyweight (borderline cumbersome) for something that’s relatively simple.

The docs feel dense and difficult to approach. While I appreciate the depth of the docs, it’s hard to know where to begin.
