Farewell, Moon. π #Apollo17 lifted off the lunar surface #OTD in 1972, bringing a successful end to the Apollo program. The astronauts spent nearly 22 hrs outside their lander, drove 22 mi in their rover, & collected 243 lbs of samples during a mission that lasted 12.6 days.
