Quite pleased with the neatness of the cables behind my #AppleStudioDisplay.

The USB-C-to-3.5mm adapter means my headphones can be attached to the display so it’s truly a single cable to connect to the MacBook. Couldn’t get a long USB-C-to-3.5mm cable to work, so it’s a short dongle plus extension.

The other cables are Ethernet and combo USB-C/lightning charging. (And display-to-MacBook, and power.)

Trying to resist getting a braided-textile network cable for completeness…

#AppleStudioDisplay first impressions.

Feels bright and sharp compared to my old Cinema Display. Plugging in a single cable rather than three #bedongled ones is glorious. Speakers are rather good.

The camera is notoriously not great but OK so far. Comparable to the MBA camera and Continuity Cam in a poorly lit office on a February evening.

Zoom hasn’t respected Centre Stage meaning it’s un-ideally wide. Google Meet is fine but the pan is distracting. A non-panning crop may be nice.

Finally getting the #AppleStudioDisplay to replace my aging Cinema Display, so doing some #DeskSetup research.

Are desk pads any good generally? They do look nice.

I got my hands on an #AppleStudioDisplay (delivery times have gone a bit through the roof, so you have to be lucky), and while it's pretty pricy, it easily is the best display I owned so far – the panel is bright, vivid and sharp as fuck, the speakers are good enough (if I can pleasantly listen to #DeepPurple, they passed their test) and the camera is… well, does its job, and with #CenterStage in a rather convenient way, I have to say. Talking about build quality? Nothing matches.
