What I want to see, is a mashup of three open source hardware+software projects: LucidVR gloves, SlimeVR, and AprilTag.

LucidVR for haptic feedback and finger tracking, even without Leap Motion. Add 2-4 SlimeVR tracker pucks to retain tracking outside camera's FOV using IMU tracking. Add AprilTag QRcodes to invisibly recalibrate the trackers when they return to the camera's FOV, and boost tracking precision.
