Hey #AskFedi,
Any semitic language scholars out there?
I'm looking to translate Luke 18:13's phrase "God be merciful to me a sinner" into Aramaic, with something approaching period-accurate Aramaic script (whatever Unicode can handle)
I'm thinking about making a plaque for a friend.

The Aramaic Incantation Bowls - or Demon Bowls - were used for many purposes, from cursing to binding to counter spells and even for healing.
The left bowl is a counter spell, the right bowl was supposed to bind demons.

There isn’t a single #Arab country that is 100% Arab. #SaudiArabia has about 50,000 native speakers of #Faifi. Faifi is a #Semitic #language #indigenous to Faifa, Jizan, in southwest Saudi Arabia near #Yemen.
Arabic is closer to #Hebrew and #Aramaic than to Faifi.
