Hey ,
Any semitic language scholars out there?

I'm looking to translate Luke 18:13's phrase "God be merciful to me a sinner" into Aramaic, with something approaching period-accurate Aramaic script (whatever Unicode can handle)

I'm thinking about making a plaque for a friend.

"Behold! The years begin coming and do not cease from coming." Verily, it is and always has been so.

The Aramaic Incantation Bowls - or Demon Bowls - were used for many purposes, from cursing to binding to counter spells and even for healing.

The left bowl is a counter spell, the right bowl was supposed to bind demons.

6th-8th century,

"This is a counter to send a spirit against Mar Zuṭra son of Ukkamay: In the name of Qaṣpiel, the angel of death, I adjure you, O Anfarat, [ev]il spirit (...)"

Aramaic bowls resemble the and Latin tablets. They can be just as dark and sinister.

"Bound and are you, all you demons and devils and liliths, by that hard, mighty, powerful and strong binding (...) Be subdued and sealed, away from the house and from the threshold of Bahram Gušnasp (...) by the talisman of Meṭaṭron (...)"
