Found at Clacton-on-Sea, Essex, in 1911. The Clacton Spear is the earliest known worked wooden implement. A yew spear point likely used as a lethal weapon. 📷 my own

About 1,000 years ago, this beautifully carved ‘tables’ game was smashed up with an axe and thrown into Gloucester Castle’s rubbish pit!😳 Excavated in 1983, it’s the world’s oldest surviving complete tables set.
