when the [Karyta] first reached surface, they encountered a whole new world - including the [#Arka], the land dwelling species of the planet.

I made this #painting with #procreate about half a year ago and hated it's guts for not meeting my expectations x'D
so, I moved it into the dark stack of unfinished stuff and never thought of it again. until this week. then I quickly made some adjustments and that's it. I like it way better than before! lol

idk what I was expecting half a year ago tbh, but I think I'm a bit too self-critical sometimes..

this is how I sketch with pigment liners - no erasing, just fun! :)

I use this eraser-free method to keep myself from obsessing over details. this way I create more (but less-perfect) drawings and learn faster. the result is that I'm able to draw from imagination much better already than I was about a year ago, which is great 😊

the [#Arka]'s home world is a windy place.
I think I have to learn how to do braids 🤔 a good way to keep one's hair out of the face. also they are pretty.

and here is the point where I want to learn a lot of new things at once, but there is just so much time.. and I'm still planning to draw environment. but it's such a big hurdle to get into it 😬

it's a creature called #Ozyres (short: Ozy) from Yr'takia, the planet of #Karyta and #Arka - that's two very opposing species of my world. the Ozyres live on the borderlands where oceans meet the shores. they are dangerous predators and not to be underestimated. and yeah, I think them adorable too x3

*whispers* the symbols are letters of a #ZhorKhat language. they read "ry" which has become a symbolic abbreviation for "rygis" - "piece".
#Karyta and #Arka learned to use this during the great war of Yr'takia to communicate their good intentions.

those faces are ** difficult to draw.. whenever I erased a tiny little shadow the face looked like a different person o.õ

I'm curious - what character traits would you associate with her? I think she looks kind of haughty x))

it feels like my mind wasn't ready for this crazy pose xD

I tried to "blur" certain parts of the drawing like the front paw, tail and ground. I definitely learned a lot with this one. but I will continue to grasp how to get movement into drawings.

btw, his one is an [Arka]. the counterpart to my Karyta :)

this one is an [#Arka]. they share a planet - one species living in the depths of the oceans and the other residing in the mountains of the land. Arka are the land people in case you're wondering ;)
bonus info: that planet is also where Ozyres come from.
