Finally bought a pretty decent set of studio lights (second-hand).

A few years ago I studied photography, so I already have a good camera with a very good lens.

I also know how to photograph art ... in theory 😅🤣

So there are really no excuses left. I can now make decent pictures and put them on my website.

Progress shot of another painting. Got this far and ran out of steam for the day. I walked away intending to finish the hand to look like the rest of the body.

🤔 Then I got to thinking, I really like the metallic look of the hand that came about unintentionally. Going to lean hard into that and create something totally different than I started out with.

Happy little accidents, right?

I watched a video from Sean Tucker about how he used photography to feel better about the way he look with self portraiture, after watching his video I wanted to trying to do self portraits of myself feeling vulnerable. I sat on this photo for over a year before sharing it as this is hard subject for me to express.

It's so great to finally have time and energy for painting again! Made hude progress today and it was hard to bring me to stop painting another thing. But now it's a good time for some cooking and afterwards there's still enough time to continue with it 😄

There's going to be a palm tree in the left foreground. I'm wondering how big I want that one to be. Maybe not that prominent so that it won't distract from the rainbow and the swarm of birds that will come in later? 🤔

I piked up one of my current projects today and am really making progress. First I rearranged a bit in the lower half to fix the perspective, I'll show details about that later.
I had reset the sky a few weeks ago and I'm quite happy with the new version in contrast of the old one.

Sure it could get more perfect but in the end it's a background element and I think I'm investing my attention onto a bunch of other details first.

outra coisa que o pessoal não pega é que aqui as hashtags são um rolê bem comunitário. se você vir aqui e querer usar hashtags que tu usa pelas outras redes, provavelmente que vão ter poucas postagens e tu vai acabar pensando "nossa que merda nunca mais vou usar hashtags na minha vida vão se foderem".

as hashtags que geralmente tem mais uso são aquelas que são adotadas pelas comunidade pra alguma coisa. aqui em português não tem muitas.

esses dias eu vi muita gente chegando aqui e perguntando "não tem ninguém aqui do fandom de X" e as vezes até chegando a usar umas hashtags genéricas sobre o assunto e... não achar ninguém. como eu falei antes, aqui as hashtags são coisas da comunidade. se você quer, por exemplo, uma hashtag pra juntar quem é fã de Balada nas Estrelas, você pode postar "pessoal, quem curte #Balada_das_Estrelas, bora usar uma hashtag pra a gente falar sobre? que tava pensando em #Tuts_Tuts_no_Espaço mas o que vocês acham?" hashtags genéricas podem ser úteis sim, mas no geral, o pessoal não vai usar muito a não ser que seja algo muito muito genérico e abrangente (tipo #pixelArt) se não, não irão ter muitas postagens não.

exemplos de hashtags da comunidade:
- #recomendo e #procuro na verdade foi criada por uma pessoa da comunidade (oi) e com o tempo foi sendo difundindo.
- #bantuRecomenda surgiu depois, não sei se por causa da outra ou se foi só coincidência
- #mutualAid, #disabledMutualAid, e outras hashtags pra pedidos de ajuda na gringa
- #florespondece para postar fotos e falar sobre flores
- #mosstodon, #lychensubscribe, #sporespondence pra fungos, cogumelos e afins
- #CreativeToots, #ArtBrave, #KindCritique, #DotArtHappy pra postagens relacionadas a arte

o que a maioria dessas hashtags tem em comum é que elas surgiram de uma necessidade da comunidade para o pessoal da comunidade usar.

logo, se você quer falar sobre suas bandas preferidas, desenhos preferidos, por que não se juntar com seus tutuals e decidir uma hashtag pra chamarem de de vocês? :blobuwu:

A lot of the times my work is very vibrant and colorful. But I love my blacks, white and muted colors just as much.

I also love my canvas big and raw.

I was trying to get back into making art last year ...

Struggling so hard. People pleasing and perfectionism kept me from creating.

I bought a cheap sketchbook, called it my shitbook, and made shit art on purpose.

So liberating! I learned so much about me and what I wanted to paint. The perfectionism almost completely disappeared.

Now my shitbook experiments inform the rest of my art.

Daughter has her first tattoo, based on a poppy line drawing I did for her. She wants a butterfly next. She thinks I should be able to sell my designs, but I'm not sure how to go about that. Any tips? Sample attached so people can see what sort of thing I produce.
