As we savor the success of #ArtemisI, I’m rudely reminded that the US is dependent on #SpaceX to land humans on the moon, ostensibly in 2025.

We should never have abandoned public funding for space launch platforms. Ceding such a strategic piece to civilian profit was unwise.

Now that the uncrewed #ArtemisI #Moon mission has concluded, what’s next?

The #ArtemisII mission is planned for a May 2024 launch and will be the second flight of the #Artemis program. It is aiming to be the first mission to carry humans to the Moon’s vicinity since 1972's #Apollo17.
