Is constantly having a portion of a song stuck in your head and clacking your teeth together in time with the beat considered #stimming? (On the outside it looks like I'm grinding my teeth)

I was told recently that not being able to see myself from others' perspective was a common trait of autism. I always understood it as denial. Is it common because autistic people are commonly traumatized by society and are in a state of perpetual denial in social contexts, or is it linked more closely to biological neurodiversity? #AskAutistics
We have a date sceduled for our 3 year old daughter since her pediatrician thinks she may is autistic.
Beside the survey I have no glue what will happen there and am pretty excited and worried as well since I know that she struggles when she feels that she is assessed in any way (relatable I think).
Is there some information out there what may happen and what we will go through when she is about to be diagnosed?

Looking at people's #introductions and #profiles & it seems that a number of #PeopleOfMastodon identify as both #transgender and #autistic
That got me thinking about the people I surround myself with, and there is a strong overlap between identifying as #Queer and being diagnosed as #Neurodiverse amongst my friends.
Is this #correlation #causation #coincidence or something else?

Has anyone ever had a moment when masking where they make eye contact with someone and that person makes eye contact back and you get stuck for a second and get the feeling the other person is also autistic and masking and that’s why you’re even making eye contact?
I hope that makes sense, it was a looooong day.
#AskAutistics #actuallyautisic is it common for autistic people to have celiac disease? I have gluten sensitivity and I’m on a gluten free diet but I think I’ll reintroduce gluten again for a couple of months to be tested for celiac disease.

When I see posts without alt text, should I use the #Alt4You hashtag to help out with captioning it? Will that be seen as passive-aggressiveness? Or ignoring consent?
I’m thinking… if it is, then perhaps an #Alt4You needs to be paired with an #Alt4Me — essentially a way of saying “I consent to someone captioning my image for me.”
#askAutistics too I guess haha

Do I know any #neurodivergent peeps who actually manage to use a notebook/planner consistently? Either digital or paper-based.
I cannot maintain one for the life of me even though I’ve tried every planner and app under the sun.
When I do use it, it does work. It helps me keep track of things and makes me feel less overwhelmed. I don’t feel like I’m spinning a bajillion plates at the same time.
But idk how to keep up with it or build that habit. So please share your secrets if you’ve managed to deal with this.
