Lake Lyndon, kinda the easy access do anything fun lake just off as state highway to Arthurs pass. Looks a bit different at night

Like all my astro panos this is a multi shot stitch but no tracking or stacking... I've seriously sucked in lots of light for this, iso 6400, f1.4, 15 second frames, 18 in total.

'Stars over Sealy'

Taken during an impromptu astro session during a 4 day landscape workshop

Very long days but the group was up for some unscheduled night shooting before a very early start.

This is the road to Mt Cook airport, its closed at night so no traffic, the MW lined up with the Sealy range really nicely

Was windy as hell so tricky

Ok so having a go at a camera is apparently a touchy subject..

The a7r is/was a fine camera, it was my primary landscape body for several years, its resolution, dynamic range and overall IQ was astounding for the time and it was also a great value buy ( for a FF mirrorless)

But any tool has weaknesses as well as strengths. Its astro files had some issues..

This.. this wasnt easy to shoot or put together but worth it.

Sadly taken on my original sony a7r instead of something better , because i had murdered the 6d/50f1.4 the week before :/
