@rusty I'll note that Securify Peanut plugs also allow for power monitoring and are #ZigBee plugs, but they require manual configuration (they don't report the model properly) and they have worse issues than the Innr plugs falling off the network (they randomly restart). I ended up switching to #Athom #ESPHome plugs after trying all of the power monitoring plugs on the Blakadder ZigBee list.
The other day I asked about a smart switch compatible with #homeassistant and got several recommendations for #athom. I bought a few and am so far quite happy with them. Not only does #athom come with power monitoring but, unlike Sonoff, its pushbutton switch is placed on the side, thus easily accessible when a load is plugged in. It was easily discovered by #esphome although I probably shouldn't have tried to "adopt" and rename it all in one go. Thank you all who replied to my original post.

@mattb Huge fan of #Athom smart home devices, especially their #ESPHome stuff. You should be able to provision them through your phone by just connecting to the WiFi network it creates. They are picked up by #HomeAssistant and the ESPHome web interface without issue once you get them on your main network. Some of the easiest #WiFi #SmartHome plugs I've ever used.

I love how #HomeAssisitant is now so heavily focussed on #usability and ease of use! I switched from #Athom #Homey which was supposed to be the easiest way to get started with a #SmartHome, but I found home assistant to be easier to discover and add devices at least. Even automations aren't that difficult to use, and are much more powerful. To anyone who hasn't looked at home assistant in a year or so, please do have another go, it's so much better now!
