@bob yep it was the days when #dontbeeval might still have been the moto and everyon and his dog were comeing up with #openweb projects - at leaset #opensocial was built on good grassroots tech standerds - intresting you can see the root https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/OpenSocial of #activertypub which it self came from #pubsubhub which came from #atompub which came from #atom which came from #rss
#dontbeeval #openweb #opensocial #activertypub #pubsubhub #AtomPub #atom #rss
@felix@radical.town @lesbianhacker its RSS, the whole #activertypub speck is based on #atompub so its kinda shocking the mastodon took out the atom feed as a fig leaf to privacy that is simply not there. Activertypub is based on "open" trying to secure it is a stupid (and dishonest) thing to do. If you won't closed use closedtech do not paste fig leaves... crap and makeing a mess, think we need to hand out spades.
@bob For the #OMN being based on the #4opens am looking at Odata as the rest API core https://www.progress.com/blogs/odata-faqs-why-should-rest-api-developers-use-odata as this is an outgrouth of #atompub and #RSS and comes from a long process of open development #indymedia What do you think?
#omn #4opens #AtomPub #rss #indymedia
were useing this to build the #OMN RSS, #Atom, #AtomPub, #OData https://blogs.sap.com/2018/08/20/monday-morning-thoughts-odata/ and #activertypub is in this #OMN flow
