Turns out there were two chapters missing in my audiobook edition of a book I was listening too. I was trying to map chapter titles in #Audiobookshelf and noticed every chapter title after 30 was off by one... and then every chapter after 48 was off by 2.
Because chapters 31 and 49 were missing.
Sigh.
Started messing with #Audiobookshelf for my #selfhosted #audiobook solution. It's pretty nice!
Unfortunately wherever they get their Chapter titles and markers doesn't quite match up with my books, so I'm still suck with Track #1, #2 and so on, unless I go and manually adjust each chapter heading by hand.
That wont work for 75+ books, some with 100+ chapters.

#audiobookshelf is the best for replacing Audible, being able to sync my progress between devices is a feature I really love. Combined with liberating audiobooks via #Libation, this works great for my entire audiobook collection :)
Recently setup #Audiobookshelf - great interface for bringing together my library of audiobooks from different sources into a single great interface. #selfhosted
Vielleicht mal interessant eine kurze Übersicht zu geben:

@5t0ll1 @astrr I have been using https://github.com/audiamus/AaxAudioConverter for a few years now and it produces mp3 with all the chapter info intact so I can then load into #Audiobookshelf
I tried Plex as well, but while I can set it up to store track progress for audiobooks, it can't deal with chapters out of the box, so you're stuck with one long track to navigate through. I'm sure there's add-ons to fix this, but I'm happy with running audiobookshelf separately. I can even point both at the same folder and have it all in both 🤷♂️ #plex #audiobookshelf #audiobooks #nas

2. audiobookshelf (https://www.audiobookshelf.org) - essentially a Plex for audiobooks! Installed the server via https://www.myqnap.org/product/audiobookshelf/ on my QNAP NAS, put all the Audiobooks in a folder, installed the free Android + iOS apps - works like a charm! Now the audiobooks are safe and everyone in the family can have their own account and keep their own progress rather than all being logged into the same Audible account and stomping over each other's progress! #audiobookshelf #audiobooks #audible #qnap #nas

1. Libation (https://github.com/rmcrackan/Libation) - lets you log into your Audible account, download all your audiobooks, decrypt them, convert to m4b or mp3 with metadata and chapters all perfectly preserved! #audiobooks #audiobookshelf #audible #drm

@Wtangofoxtrot @astrr is there a easy outofthebox method to convert the audible aax into mp3 or wathever #audiobookshelf can read?
@astrr as an audable user you can download every audio book in your collection from the website and keep them forever. You can also selfhost #Audiobookshelf in your #homelab and use that to access them without needing audible in the future if needed.
@jondy my main machine that I work from every day runs @pop_os_official & a another is currently running @EndeavourOS with #SwayWM, though I’m switching to @opensuse this week. I’ve been on #Firefox + #DuckDuckGo for about 5 years & @homeassistant makes my life easier every day. My #Audiobookshelf instance makes my spouse & a few friends very happy & gives me peace of mind, #Tandor lets me easily save recipes, & I’m migrating to @nextcloud

#homelab I'm proud of my home lab. What started with just a raspberry pis, turned into server rack, servers, and rack mounted network gear!
What you can't see, is the software inside. Software includes:

I have really struggled to work with #libretro and friends to play my legit games. Soamy things should have just worked and they didn't. I have got somewhere now and need to write some stuff down.
It makes projects like #jellyfin and #audiobookshelf stand out even more as great experiences. Good job!

I've seen some pretty nifty #homelab network maps on here, I need to get around to making something like that.
I'm kind of addicted to spinning up and hosting cool and useful services in #Docker at home (and/or on a #VPS).
Here are a few of them I use on a regular basis:

What I am looking for is an app that I can host and access on, for example, "podcasts.mydomain.com", open it from any browser and listen to podcasts via the web player, then close it and continue from the same place on any other device or a mobile app. Like Spotify or Pocketcasts.
This is what #Audiobookshelf does, but it's much more usable for audio books than for podcasts (at least, for now).
Hope it's clear now why Gpodder or the Nextcloud app can't do that.
