I made a MIDI for the melody as well and, for the hell of it, pulled everything into #auriapro because the synths are generally a lot better. I sent the melody to the "MK I Clarinet" Mellotron voice in Streetlytron Pro and it's really pretty nice. No audio to share yet because Auria is still somewhat broken in #ios14, but I'll probably mess with it some more tomorrow.
Fingers crossed #ipadOS 14.3 does the trick; apparently there was a Core #MIDI bug in 14.2 that was causing enough trouble that WaveMachine released an #AuriaPro update to outright disable inter-app connectivity affected by it, which I think explains at least some of my "I *swear* I used to be able to use that app as a midi instrument" head-scratching #audioproduction #recording
#recording #audioproduction #AuriaPro #midi #ipados
Actually taking the time to cleanup and purge various project files that are no longer needed, taking a proper backup of my ipad, etc.
I still have to deal cleanup in #auriapro, which is an excellent DAW but could really use an update to take advantage of iOS' newer file management capabilities. That's really a larger project unto itself, I have 3 years' worth of audio projects in various states of completion and they're all in one directory
I just had an #MIDI conceptual breakthrough in the context of using #AuriaPro to control an external app or device: Buried in Auria's piano roll view is the 'BankSel MSB (CC O)' view selector, where you can manually create bank select events along the timeline, thus telling the external app/device what bank to use.
