For comparison, I just calculated my April 2023 energy cost for my 2017 BMW i3 94ah. I bought it used in 2020 for $19k. It had only 13.3k miles on it.

I paid an average of 13.8¢/kWH for all the electricity I used.

I averaged 3.4 miles/kWH, 4.1¢/mile.

@jsnell @atpfm I’ve had #bmwi3 for 7 years but it started glitching and #bmw weren’t interested. So needed to buy a new one in Feb- ruled out #teslamodel3 without CarPlay- wanted a #KiaNiroEV but 4 month wait meant I bought an mg4 which I could have immediately. Would not buy another car without it. Ps amusing to hear @marcoarment singing praises of the #i3 as I remember him being rather down on it around the time he picked up his #Tesla. Though it really is a car for Europe.

The answer to yesterdays #NameThatCar challenge was, as many of you #WeirdCarMastodon folks correctly identified a clever and bold piece of design and engineering the #BMW i3.
Not sure the current crop of electric BMW are as interesting, but more mainstream. I think the i3 has potential as a future classic.

I guess somebody had a case of the Mondays on a Friday. Went to hook up my electric car to a charger and ran into an abandoned charging cable locked into the charger. Should make for an interesting realization when that driver needs to charge somewhere else.. This is also why I always disconnect from the charger before taking the cable out of the chargeport on the car.. #electriccar #BMWi3
