483 followers · 3266 posts · Server mastodon.sdf.orgI found a page on #BPCL history, and the byte-access operator was an introduction at some later stage. Didn't see a timeline as such. But I think of classic BCPL as being strongly word-oriented.

Thing is I haven't had to use a byteless BCPL!
