The entire stack for , , , etc is found on at
codeberg.org/gnutelephony and is buildable on . support depends on the mqueuefs kernel plugin. I have internally made preliminary FreeBSD ports and NetBSD pkgsrc. requires at least 9.1, maybe now 10, because of a new requirement for gcc filesystem support.

Goodness, the 32/V, 4 & versions of ps.c are so completely different. It’s clear there’s been a complete rewrite for Solaris, but who knows what happened between Ancient Unix and System V R4. I could probably get tapes, then again I might not be able to.
It’s also clear how different these systems’ features and kernel representation of processes were.

Looks like the last code commit from to get into was:
1990-07-01: strerror(); set proc in pgrp before setting terminal
Marc Teitelbaum
github.com/dspinellis/unix-his

The first code commit from BSD csh not in illumos was:
1990-11-09: remove vestiges of AT&T shell
Keith Bostic
github.com/dspinellis/unix-his

Oh, the irony.

The amazing thing about the history repo is that you can concretely see things like that ’ csh dinit() github.com/illumos/illumos-gat

Must have diverged from between the 1985 copyright addition and major rewrite in 1991, likely after 1988: github.com/dspinellis/unix-his

@luna I mean, I use as a similar landmine and I seriously want to consider going with a modified license that is not only but forces and free as well as unrestricted access to the source code of it and any products using it.

But then again I'm not a lawyer and "drafting your own license" is only beaten by "designing your own cryptographic algorithm / -implementation" in terms of complexity and harm if done wrong!

People frequently say they don’t want on their workstation because it’s a server FS. But what’s the best workstation FS? , , , , ? What’s the going benchmark workload look like? What subjective aspects matter too? (And yes, I know about damned lies of fsbench.filesystems.org/)

@tailsy By the way, most delightfully insane version of this feeling:
Up to 3.x, included a variant called `edit` intended for new users. It prevented getting into visual mode. It was basically a “user friendly”
