Note to my future self. When installing computers with #btrfs and not wanting to fiddle with SSH, use #netcat. On the receiver side do:
nc -l 6667 | btrfs receive /mnt/stuff
Then on the sender side where you have the read-only snapshot prepared:
btrfs send /mnt/stuff/snap-ro | nc 1.2.3.4 6667
Has someone here already played with #btrfs on the #steamdeck? Just stumbled upon this https://gitlab.com/popsulfr/steamos-btrfs
Toot from the #MachineRoom: Backups are made by stopping all Mastodon processes and the databases, syncing the file systems (remember "nodatacow") and then taking a #BTRFS snapshot. Then everything is started again. The snapshot is later pulled by the backup server. This all takes place between 2:10 and 2:20 UTC and take around 30s. This will not increase very much for a few thousand active users.
I have recently reinstalled #Debian testing in order to encrypt all disks with #BTRFS with #LUKS aes-xts-plain 128 bit keylength and compress with lzo in two RAID 1 SSD.
I choose to switch to #AwesomeWM from GNOME/KDE, probably one of the best environment out there.
I actually building some basic config but I think it's going very good.❤️
